Freelance Magazine Designer & Print Designer

I offer high quality services as a magazine designer and print designer, with a wealth of experience across both print and digital media.

I began my career in graphic design as a magazine designer back in 2005, when I worked on a small beauty magazine in South Africa. Since then I’ve gone on to design a UK toy trade title, an over-50s lifestyle magazine, and even the Argos Christmas catalogue.

For most of my clients I offer a full service magazine design or print design package, handling everything from the layout, all the way up to sending the finished files to the printers. My services are completely flexible to suit your needs; for some of my clients I work purely on either design or artworking.

Freelance magazine concept designs

Some projects I have worked on as a magazine designer and print designer:

Freelance magazine design

Oaklands College

College Life

I was approached by Oaklands College, St Albans, to revive their bi-annual student magazine, College Life.

This included a complete redesign, starting from initial concept, colour palette and typography through to outputting artworked files for the printers.

Annual course guides

I was also given the opportunity to tender for Oaklands’ annual course guides. They were seeking a complete redesign both visually and in terms of how the guides were presented including size, structure and printing finishes.

Eurostar

I worked at Eurostar as a freelance designer for five months, where I worked on numerous print and digital campaigns. A major project I worked on was the print rollout of the Travel State Of Mind campaign, which included magazine and newspaper print adverts, London Underground tube carriage adverts and London Underground platform 12-sheets. I also worked on the brand guidelines for the same campaign and put the entire pack together.

Raising Partners

I regularly design fundraising pitch packs on behalf of investment consultancy Raising Partners, for their clients. Each pack is designed using the client’s brand guidelines. This particular design was created in InDesign rather than PowerPoint in order meet the client’s design expectations.

Treatment Abroad

Communication company Intuition Communications approached me to create the concept and design for a new annual magazine, Treatment Abroad.

The title, which goes into every NHS waiting room in the UK, explains the treatment options available to British people throughout the EU.

In addition to my design services I worked with my preferred print supplier to deliver the publications.
